Ananthakrishna Bhattacharyar Retires

17.01.2010

After 65 long years of service at the Varadaraja Perumal Temple, Govindarajapuram, Sri Ananthakrishna Bhattacharyar retired today. His retirement was voluntary. He requested the Grama Jana Samooham for some rest in this old age and his health has been a cause of worry for all of us.

After the customary Pooja in the morning the people from the village assembled to give him a wonderful farewell and to welcome the new Bhattacharyar. Sri Ramaseshan alias Rajaram alias Ravi Bhattacharyar, son of the much famous Ramamoorthy Bhattacharyar has taken the responsibility of serving Lord Varadaraja Perumal at the Govindarajapuram temple.

Sri Ananthakrishna Bhattacharyar was Garlanded and was showered with due respects. His services at the Temple were remembered and people fell at his feet for receiving his grace. He has been requested to guide the new incumbent and the villagers in keeping up the traditions and rituals. Sri Ananthakrishna Bhattacharyar has agreed to this.
Sri Ananthakrishna Bhattacharyar made a pradakshinam of the temple and was taken in procession to his home together to the accompaniment of ‘Vaadhya Melam’. It was a moment of emotions for all those who had assembled there. The memories of his services to the temple and the example he has set in the display of Hari Bhakthi will remain green in the memories of all those who were present.

Sri Ananthakrishna Bhattacharyar has lived to the name of Azhwar literally.

Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya.

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare.
